Hetaloid!England x Reader - Chapter 1

"Ugh, another long day of work.  Now to take a nap before I have to do some chores," you groaned, sitting back on your comfy couch.

Your name is (first name) (last name), and as said you had just gotten home from work.  You lived in (city name), (state name), and you had been living in the same city your whole life.  You worked at (work name) 3 days a week, but the business paid you well enough to pay your monthly bills.  The days were long, but it was worth it.  When you weren't at work you were at school trying to get a degree in (degree you want), but thankfully you had just finished finals and the semester had finished.  Now you had some extra free time.

However, ever since you had moved out of your parents house to live on your own you had been lonely and bored.  Nothing to do besides go to work, clean the house, and try to hang out with your friends.  You all had jobs, so it was hard to find time where everyone could meet up and just talk.

Right now, you were thinking about calling (friend name) before you took your nap, but you knew she was probably at work.  You glanced outside to see that it had begun to rain heavily as it pounded the window.  It sent you into a small trance.  That is until the phone rang, making you jump in fright before picking it up.

"(NAME)!!!  Did you see the news?" (friend name) yelled through the phone, causing you to hold it away from your ear.

"Ouch, turn your voice down please, haha.  And no, I just got home.  Why?"

"The prices for the Hetaloids just went down a little bit!  Maybe we could finally be able to afford one!"

"(f/n), you know Hetaloids are super expensive even when they put them on sale."

"I know, let a fangirl dream here, girl.  I really want a Prussia Hetaloid, but I never have enough money after I pay taxes," they cried through the phone.

"Yeah, I know how you feel.  I wish I could get one.  Hetalia was my favorite anime of all time and the fact that they made them 'real' was the most awesome thing in the world, yet they make them ubber expensive."

"Yeah, well I'll let you catch your nap before you fall asleep since you sound really tired.  I have to get back to work anyway.  My manager is glaring at me with the usual 'get back to work' look."

"Ok, I'll talk to you soon. Bye," you then hung up the phone and put it back on the hook.

Hetaloids were androids made to resemble the anime characters of your favorite anime, Hetalia.  They were made to be as human as possible and acted exactly like their anime selves.  Heck, they were as human you or anyone else.  The only downside to these amazing people was that they were so expensive, only the rich portion of society could usually afford them.  Which in your opinion was understandable since they were so unique, but can't a company let the fans try to get one?

You sighed and started to head towards your bedroom when you heard a crashing sound of bottles, boxes, and trash bins from beside your house.  A moment after you heard muffled cursing and more movement that only resulted in a repeat of noises.  Curiosity getting the better of you, you made your way to your front door and opened it.  The pouring rain awaited you beyond your porch, so you grabbed your umbrella and your jacket.  You slowly made your way to the side of you house to the corner and peered around it.  What you saw made your heart both sink and beat faster.

Sitting against the wall was an England hetaloid.

He was wearing his green military uniform, but it was dirty and soaked to the bone.  His blonde hair was disheveled and messier than it normally should be.  He seemed to be whimpering a little, but was cursing under his breath.  The way he was sitting against the wall made it seem like he was just defeated.  His legs were stretched out in front of him and his arms hung down to the round with the palms of his hands facing up.

You slowly came around the corner cautiously, trying not to scare him, but also trying not to be seen.  It didn't work for you had stepped on a piece of glass.  His head whipped up and looked straight at you.  His emerald eyes, as green as a forest, locked onto your (color) ones.  His thick eyebrows shot up high in shock, but quickly furrowed in confusion.  You both just froze in place, staring at each other until you broke the silence.

"A-Are you ok?" you asked nervously.

"I'm bloody fine, thank you.  Now just be on your way," he muttered, annoyance apparent in his voice as he turned his head away.

You frowned at this.  No one spoke to you that way without a very good reason, and this was not for a good reason.  You walked up to him, authority radiating off of you as you looked down at him.  He glanced back up at you but quickly coward into the wall in fright.

"I just asked if you were alright and then you go and snap at me when I haven't down anything to deserve it.  That is not very gentleman like, sir England," you stated, arms crossed.

"I-I-I....I just....*sigh* I'm sorry, love, but I'm just....just not too chipper right now," he whispered then looked down again.

Your frown softened into a flat line and you then held the umbrella over the two of you and offered your hand to help him up.  He looked up at you, shocked by your gesture.

"You're soaked to the bone.  Why don't you come inside and we can get you something warm to drink and some dry clothes.  Then you can tell me why you were sitting out here in the rain," you said in the warmest, nicest tone he had ever heard.

He just continued to look at you shocked, but nodded his head and took the hand you offered.  You made your way back to your house and lead him inside.  He seemed hesitant at first, stopping at the doorway.  You looked back, giving him a questioning glance.

"Why?"

"Why what England?"

"Why are you being so nice to someone you don't know?  Or is it because you just wish to own one of us 'hetaloids' just like everyone else?" he asked in a slight accusing tone.

His question shocked you.  Did everyone treat them like objects?   They were made to be human, so why weren't they treated like a human?  You turned to face him and looked straight into his eyes, your gaze never wavering.

"I wont deny that I haven't ever wanted a hetaloid, but right now I am helping a person in need.  Do I need a reason to help someone who needs help?"

His eyes widened in amazement and shock, and he shook his head.

"You are not like the other masters I have had."

"I'm not your master.  I'm just a person helping another person in need," you said with a smile and pulled him through the door.

What you didn't catch was he had smiled just slightly, but it quickly went away.  Your kindness and soothing words were nothing he had ever experienced before.

"Ok, this is the guest room.  I'll be right back with some clothes for you to change into so I can put them in the dryer," you smiled and left him to examine the room.

You went to your room and into your closet.  Luckily, you kept some extra clothes around just in case one of your friends or family decided to stay the night.  You picked out a loose shirt with the union jack symbol on it and some dark blue sweat pants.  Your friend had loved the union jack symbol, but left it at your house one time and somehow forgot all about it, which you found slightly ironic.  Thankfully, it was big enough for England to wear.

You then made your way back to the guestroom to find England looking at the framed picture of your family you had kept on the dresser.  He seemed lost in thought, so you knocked lightly on the door to get his attention.  He jumped, almost losing his hold of the picture before setting it back on the dresser.  He looked to you with a slight blush dusting his cheeks which caused you to giggle slightly.  He frowned and turned his head to the side in annoyance, but you knew he was just being a tsundere.

"This is all I have for now, but I hope you'll be okay with it," you said happily, holding out the clothes for him to take.

He peeked an eye open and caught sight of the union jack symbol.  He turned back around and gave you a small smile before taking the clothes from you.

"Thank you, love."

You blushed at the word 'love,' but recovered and kept your cool.

"I'll leave you to get dressed then.  When you're down just come back out to the living room and I'll get some warm tea for you."

He simply nodded as you closed the door behind you.  You made your way to the kitchen and got into your cabinet.  You had a good variety of teas, but you decided to choose (fav tea).  As you boiled the water, you left your screaming mind take control of your thoughts.  You had just found an England hetaloid and he was in your guestroom.  This had to be fate, or a cruel trick.  He could belong to someone else and they could be looking for him.  He could just up and leave whenever he wanted to, or the HetaCorp could come and take him away.

These thoughts clouded your mind and you failed to notice that the water was now boiling over the pot.  It splashed over the side and caught your right index finger from the base to about 2/3's up.  You hissed in pain and quickly went to the sink to put your finger under the cold water.  You sighed in relief as soon as the cold relief hit your finger, but you soon were muttering how stupid you were.

"Are you alright, love?" England asked from close behind you.

"Ack!  Please don't scare me like that England, and I'm fine, just a small accident," you said softly, showed your now beat red finger.

His face then transformed into one of concern and worry.  He then made his way to the pot and turned it off, and then went to your freezer to look for something.  After a moment he reached in and removed an ice pack and walked back over to you.  He held his hand out, asking to see your hand.

“May I?”

You just nod and let him see your hand.  He then gently placed the ice pack over your hand before grabbing a towel and wrapping it around it.  It felt really good against your burning skin.

“Thank you,” you smiled.

“I'm just repaying you for your help, love.  Now why don’t you go sit down and I’ll finish making this tea?”

“Alright,” you say and make your way to your living room.

You plop down on your couch and nurse your hand.  It felt better, but it was beginning to itch and it was driving you kind of crazy.  You resisted though and just gently massaged it while you looked out the window.  The rain had let up a little, but it was still coming down fairly hard.  The sun had now set and darkness had taken over.  The city light illuminated the darkness and created its own orchestra of colors.

“Ahem.”

You glanced up and saw England holding two teacups, one of which he was offering to you.

“Thank you, and sorry about that.  You’re the guest and I’m making you do the work,” you apologize, taking the tea.

“You were just clumsy.  Just try to be more careful next time.”

“I will.  Oh!  I haven’t introduced myself yet.  My name is (Full Name).  Nice to meet you,” you cheerfully smiled, though your eyebrow twitched in annoyance at his comment.

“Nice to meet you, too.  You already know who I am, but you may call me Arthur.”

“Ok, Arthur.  If I may ask, why were you outside in the rain?”

Arthur stayed silent.  He kept sipping his tea every so often, but you could tell the topic was a touchy subject for him.  His eyes stayed focused on the floor, refusing to make contact with your own.  It looked like he was pondering whether to tell you or not, so you spoke up.

“If you aren’t ready to tell me that’s alright, Arthur.  I wont pry, but you are still welcome to stay here as long as you need to,” you said gently.

He finally looked at you with a incredulous expression, but behind it you could see relief.

“Forgive me, (Name).  It’s just not a topic I wish to speak about at this moment, but I promise to tell you sometime.  Also, as for your offer, I couldn’t possibly stay.  I have nothing to offer in exchange, and you have already done much for me.”

You rolled your eyes and tried to compromise, “It’s pouring rain outside Arthur, and from what I can tell you have nowhere else to stay.  I’m not about to kick you out to sleep on the cold, damp ground.  You will stay the night and we can figure out something tomorrow, alright?”

You watched as he pondered your offer, his eyes deep in thought.  After a moment he finally gave in and sighed.

“Alright you win, love.  And….Thank you,” he mumbled the last part, looking away with a blush.

You giggled at his behavior which earned you a small glare.  You had both finished your tea and he took them back into the kitchen.  You then let out a long yawn.  It had been a busy day and you were dead tired.  The exhaustion you felt blocked out the throbbing of your finger, which was a small plus.  You got up and went over to the kitchen as Arthur finished cleaning the cups.

“I’m going to head to bed Arthur.  Is there anything you need before I go?”

“No, love, but thank you again for the hospitality."

"It's no problem.  Also I was wondering if it would be alright if I called HetaCorp.  I just want to make sure you are alright," you inquired.

"N-No, no love.  Please don't call them," shaking his head furiously from side to side.

You raised an eyebrow in confusion and wondered why he didn't want to see them so bad.

"Arthur, I know you don't wish to tell me some things, but if there's something I should know I would like to know," crossing your arms and giving him a serious look.

He looked down at his feet and mumbled something you couldn't hear.

"I couldn't hear you," you say politely.

"I ran away," he said while gritting his teeth.

You eyes shot wide open.  He ran away from his owners?  Why would he do that?  Then memories of what he said earlier flashed through your mind.  He thought that you were just taking him in because you wanted a hetaloid and not 'him.'  Well, you wanted both, even if he didn't trust you just yet.

He just continued to stand there, waiting for you to run to the phone and tell the company you found the missing hetaloid.  Any person would have done that without a second thought.  Instead, you did something that he never expected.  You had slowly walked over to him and pulled him into a comforting hug.  His head snapped up and looked back at you with wide eyes.  You couldn't see the blush spreading across his face, but if you had it would have put tomatoes to shame.

"I don't know what happened that made you run away, but you're welcome to stay here as long as you need to.  I also know you don't trust me just yet, but I hope that maybe you'll give me a chance to take care of you."

After a few moments you thought he was going to push you away, but instead he slowly returned the hug.

"Thank you, (Name).   I'll stay here for awhile.  T-That is until I decide to leave."

You giggled and pulled away, giving him a happy smile that caused him to blush again and look away.

"Why don't we both head to bed and tomorrow we can get you some new clothes to wear?"

He simply nodded and you walked to your bedroom.  Closing the door behind you, you let out another long yawn.  You shuffled to your dresser and headed to the bathroom to get ready for bed.  Once done you flopped onto your bed and quickly fell asleep.  That night was filled with wonderful dreams.

To be continued~

I need Hetaloid England, just so that it feels like England is there with me
(Also that moment when Prussia is your 2nd fave chara)
(Also my fave tea is Earl Grey, pretty sure England would love it too XD)
